A Stanford and Harvard professor convened a symposium on what’s actually working to improve diversity and inclusion in organizational life and what is really worked in the companies on the name of changing diversity. In this article, David Pedulla summarizes the main findings. the author and Devah Pager designed a convening and brought experts for leading on biasness, technology, any kind of discrimination, and organization designs. they did not showed the problems but instead of that they kind a did a survey and asked people "What works" in the organization. For evidence based ideas to increase diversity and equity, they find 5 insights. First, organizations should set goals, collect data, and hold people accountable for improving diversity within the organization. Second, organizations should abandon traditional discrimination and harassment reporting systems — these often lead to retaliation. Employee Assistance Plans (EAPs), ombuds offices, and transformative dispute resolution systems can play a critical role in not only reducing retaliation but also provide fuel for organizational change. Third, organizations should check to ensure that technologies used to assist in hiring and promotion aren’t inherently biased. Fourth, companies must avoid tokenism. Forth, the should be beware of N problem. people from the groups or communities, can be subjected to stereo type based evaluations or other name called tokenism. this unwanted bias perceptions will have negative consequences for both, the individual workers and also for the whole organizations. there is a suggestions that companies should stop focusing on small number of problems and start to increasing the number of representation of particular groups. Finally, organizations should get managers and other leaders involved in diversity programs from the start. This will increase buy-in and lead to smooth implementation.

1. This article should be applied on all workplace by asking them is diversity policies really works. what are their efforts to support all communities and how they think it will be helpful to encourage diversity.
2. I have an experience about this article that in our hometown 15% seats are reserved for other communities which called lower class in our area. government make a panel of 3 people to make sure if the idea is really working in the area and how it is a good idea.
